Journeys of the spririt

The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity will host a one-woman show tonight by Akuyoe Graham ... "Sprit Awakening" tells the story of Graham's journey from Ghana, where she was uprooted as a child, to London, then to Spanish Harlem and Los Angeles.

Next Friday the library will host another show about a personal journey.  Lilia Skala was Austria's first female architect, who after fleeting Nazism in 1939 with her husband and two small sons worked her way out of a New York zipper factory to win an Academy Award for her performance in "Lilies of the Field"  Libby Skala, her granddaughter, peforms "Lilia!," a one-woman show about her grandmother's life.

"Spirit Awakening" and "Lilia!" play at 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity, 2000 Massachusetts Ave.  Free.
